The View

The first reason that we bought the lot is the ability to taxi our plane "home" and into a hangar.
The second reason is the view!

Straight across view:
taxiway, runway, then lake.

Although the fir blocks a little view, it will provide shade to the deck in the morning.
Hopefully the fir will survive the hangar construction.

The Lot

Our lot is .24 acres -- 85' x 135'. One of the first obstacles that we faced was zoning -- a 35% lot coverage limit. To comply, we had to shorten the hangar by 2 feet, and the garage by 4 feet. We also adhered to the old CC&R requirement for 10 foot offsets on the south and north side.

We applied for, and got, a zoning variance to build the hangar up to the east property line. The house, however, still must remain behind the 20 foot rear lot offset.
