Hangar House

February 4 , 2007

Sunday - We flew up to HangarHouse Friday evening after work. Mike called Ken Thursday to discuss solutions for the missing 10' of pavement that links the taxiway to the hangar apron. Ken said he would put 2" planks of wood down for now until the asphalt plant makes a one-time wintertime batch.

So, for the very first time.... 2 years and 6 months exactly to the day that we started house construction... we landed in Trinity Center and taxied up to our hangar door.

Mike finally gets the plane in the hangar...

Wait, there are more hangar pictures pictures. We spent all day Saturday vacuuming and picking up the hangar. Mike assembled two storage racks on Sunday...

Cricket had her first introduction to a dog on Saturday. She came flying across the deck with the dog close behind and ended up in the oak tree at the north end of the deck. We are not sure if she jumped from the deck or went down the spiral stairs and then up the tree.

We tried putting a plank up so that she could walk from the tree to the deck, but ended up using a ladder to get her down...

Here are some close ups of the cool faux paint job that Donn Walgamuth did on our front door and columns. The door base is brown and then he created a rubbed copper effect that matches the door hardware...

The King overlooks his kingdom. Well sort of... the deck is the end of our property and Mike is overlooking the hangar apron that is on county property...

The weather in Trinity this weekend was wonderful, upper 60s during the day and a lot of sun. The flight up was great. This was the first time that Kelli and Mike made a round trip together from the Bay Area since the house project started. This was only Cricket's third trip in the plane.

It was nice to leave the Bay Area after a week of haze/fog with 4-6 mile visibility due to no rain and a strong inversion layer. Trinity was sunny, warm, and crystal clear.

Mike worked on installing the weather station outside and setting up a webpage for testing.

We flew back down Monday morning, taking off at 7:20 a.m. and Mike arriving at work in The City at 10:00 a.m.
