Day 516 - Connected

Wednesday, December 6 - My how time flies when you are moving, have no phone, and no television. Our phone company finally connected our phone service today after 3 days of "issues." So here is a fire hose pictorial update...

The Weekend

The official move ... retiring the sign at Cedar Road. It will get a new home on Lakeview.

A beautiful weekend...

Prior week's work... another section of concrete, kitchen backsplash completed, stove installed, most of the window sill tile installed, and the missing railings for the spiral stairs arrived and were installed.

The move-in is official, we have the coffee pot, the beds got assembled, and some clothes... And cats.

Had to get a tree up...

Quite the mess to put away...

Monday - Day 514

Preparing for the final (yes, really the final pour this time) concrete pour for the year...

Our new California King mattress set was delivered, but with the wrong size box springs. These are the standard size and we ordered the low profile--3.5" shorter. When Kelli sits on this mattress configuration, her feet don't touch the floor. So, a truck is again coming up from Sacramento on Monday to do an exchange...

Dave and John installed the window sill tile in the guest bedroom and office. We are short about 7 pieces of the pencil bar that goes under the big tiles. So on hold until they come in to Redding...

More decorating...

Also, the glass company came up and replaced the two end pieces of mirror on the wet bar. So that project is finally done.

Tuesday - Day 515

The pool bath sink backsplash goes in...

A fine living room. Ken calls it "early Longs"...

And people wonder why we have 42 outlets in the office. This is just Kelli's "mini" set up--computer, monitor, USB hub, cooling pad, printer, camera charger, and cell phone charger. Eight plugs.

The side apron drains are in and connected to the airport storm drain. There were small lakes out there in the past that should not recur.

Wednesday - Day 516

A foggy 9:30 a.m. pour. All is well, although the concrete took a long time to go off in 50 degree sunshine after 11:00 a.m.

Luke adds the concrete color and air. And then, we wait for mixing...

The start and halfway...

Done, now waiting...

Afternoon work--concrete finishing and the first load of rock to cover the mud...

The backsplash got grouted.

As for moving the stuff from the cabin over to HangarHouse, we are about 80% done. Kelli brought over a truckload each day this week. And of that amount, about 90% is put away in its new storage spot. Putting stuff away goes fairly slow since all the shelves need to be cleaned and all the dishes, glasses, cookware, towels, and bedding washed first. The kitchen and laundry room are done.
