Hangar House

Day 509 - Update

Monday, November 27 - While Mike and Kelli were in Chicago for Thanksgiving, Ken and crew got two days of work in on the house.

On Monday, Dave and worker Mike continued installation of the hangar door skins. Slow process. John had the day off.

Tuesday, John grouted the kitchen backsplash and the crew installed and tested the range.

Wednesday was a non-work day.

Mike and Kelli got back from Chicago on Saturday. The original plan was to fly Kelli up to Trinity Center Sunday morning. But we watched the weather forecast get worse as Sunday approached. Sunday morning brought the start of a pretty good snow storm. By day end, Trinity Center had 5" of snow in places.

So, Kelli will stay in the Bay Area this week. The current plan is to do house and Christmas shopping and reorganize during the week and drive up on Friday. The big purchase on Sunday was a new mattress from our master bedroom. The mattress will be delivered (yes, to the house in Trinity Center) next Monday. It turns out that Mattress Discounters in Emeryville have a store in Sacramento that does deliveries to the Weaverville area on Mondays. Pretty amazing. So was our timing--the mattress was on sale and it was "no tax" weekend.

Talking to Ken this morning, Dave and Mike are working on the top row of the hangar skin. And, John is working on grouting the tile on the master bathroom wall. Light snow was falling at 8:00 a.m.

The plan (gotta love plans)... the plan is to pour the last section of hangar apron concrete on Thursday. Also on Thursday, the painters are planning on returning.

Our new master bed frame should arrive at the house on Wednesday and the glass company will be back on Saturday to replace two of the the wet bar mirror pieces.
