Days 507-509 - Remote Update

Wednesday, November 22 - We are on the road in Chicago for Thanksgiving. Sorry California friends, but it is warm and sunny here in Chicago, and forecasted to be so all week. The word from back home in Trinity Center is that it is raining off and on. We see on the NOAA web site that a snow advisory is in effect for the Upper Trinity River all afternoon and evening.

When we left Trinity Center to drive to the Bay Area on Monday, Dave and Mike The Wrestler were continuing the installation of the sheet metal liner on the big hangar door. John D had called in sick. We hope he's feeling better -- he is the critical path to moving in since his current project is completion of the tile backsplash in the kitchen. Once that is complete, the stove can be installed. At that point, we have enough online to "move in." Moving in won't be all that difficult at first since there isn't much to move yet.

On Tuesday, we heard from Ken that the crew had poured the next eight feet of apron concrete. now we're only 21' from the taxiway! Ken said that it began raining "pretty good" during the pour, so that the concrete might not turn out perfectly. Oh well, unless it's pockmarked like a golf ball, we'll live with it.

Latest update on Wednesday -- John was able to complete the backsplash, and the stove was installed, hooked up to the gas line, soap tested, and the kitchen is online!

We'll post some after-the-fact pictures when Kelli gets back to Trinity next week.

Happy Thanksgiving!
