Hangar House

Day 506 - Dig, Dig, and Nest

Friday, November 17 - We made more progress on the hangar apron today. The day stayed dry and we even saw some sunshine. Dave and Rick excavated for the remaining 18 feet of concrete. We hit a lot of "cement gravel" and shale. Just getting down 3 1/2" was a lot of work.

They got the next seven foot strip formed and rebar set. All we have to do is put in the dobies before the pour--whenever that will be due to the forecasted rain....

Kelli kept up her end of the digging by planting 165 bulbs in the front step terraced bed and along the south retaining wall. Hopefully some will survive the winter and clay soil.

John finished installing the kitchen backsplash tile. Just a little more grout and the range can be installed...

Kelli started the day by doing more cleaning and bringing up from the hangar the remaining table lamps -- foyer (now we need a table) and master bedroom (forgot to take a picture) -- and Christmas gifts from last year -- Thanks Mom, Dad, and Gillum Gang. At least we got the gifts into the house before this Christmas...

Kelli also brought over stools from the cabin to check the height that we need for the breakfast bar...
