Day 504 - Hangar Door Siding

Wednesday, November 15 - Today Dave and Rick continued installing the metal siding to the inside of the hangar door. This is a pretty slow project...

Since we last updated the website, we had a wonderful weekend in Palm Springs attending the annual AOPA convention. The weather was a perfect 80 degrees. Darn, we missed the first snow storm of the season in Trinity.

It snowed Saturday and Monday. The rain gauge reads 5.21". There was some snow left on the hills today...

On Sunday, we flew to Chino. Mike got a demo ride/lesson in a Bell 47-D1 helicopter. This is the same model flown in M*A*S*H and used in Korea for medical evacuation. The military designation was H-13, and after Korea, it was used as a trainer for decades. Another very warm day!

We flew home Sunday late afternoon, getting back to Oakland at dusk.

Kelli spent Monday in the Bay Area shopping for some quick "fixes" for the house from Ikea--stemware, plates, bowls, glassware, freestanding clothes racks and shoe shelves. She drove up to Trinity yesterday, shopping in Redding to pickup the additional tile for the kitchen backsplash, the soapstone slab for the top of the wood stove, and hi-tech parts so that we can get a phone connected in the house.

There was snow along Highway 299 going up Buckhorn Grade, coming into Lewiston, and all along Highway 3 into Trinity Center.

Kelli spent today working on a grant application for the pilots association, deadline today, while sitting at the table in the dining room and running loads of dishes. She did get some time outside cleaning oak leaves out of a couple of the gutters.

The glass company came up this morning to replace the chipped shower panel in the first floor bathroom and install the mirror backsplash behind the wet bar. Well, the backsplash is is sorta done. One outlet cutout is wrong and one edge against the wall is beveled wrong. So... they will be back again.

Monday, Dave milled and installed trim on the bi-fold closets...

The concrete pour scheduled for today was cancelled due to the rain and snow. We couldn't get the forms set. We are not sure when we will have a weather break.
