Day 470 - Ipé 3

Tuesday, September 26 -- Dave and Rick completed the Ipé railings in the garage and hangar today. The work is very nice. We are all happy with the wood selection. But, the wood lived up to its other name -- ironwood. It seems that Dave invented a whole new variety of cuss words yesterday as time-after-time screws would snap off during fabrication.

John is working on the recess behind the kitchen range. There is a lot of detail in this area, and a great need to keep everything perfectly level (the recess will hold glass bottles of olive oil and soy sauce so any tilt will be visible)...

 

Kelli worked on ordering a bunch of stuff for the house, making a dump run with brush from the house and cabin, and chipping more grout.

Our neighbors got their huge roof beams set yesterday. A crane came up from Redding...
