Day 456 - Foyer Compass Rose
Wednesday, September 6 -- For
a couple of months now we have been imagining what the compass rose
would look like set in the foyer. And today the wait ended. Dave and
Bill from Pacific Crest Granite came up to install the medallion. The
only hitch was that the floor has a slight hump in it so that Dave
had to "butter" the North piece to even out a high spot that was visually
obvious. So one area is not perfectly level, but 80% of it is...

Setting...

Done for the day. Grout tomorrow...

Dave and Rick work through the challenges of the deck. They got the
north edge installed and the middle board along the long side...


John finished setting the tub backsplash...

The Bar Complex fire pushed smoke into our area all day. We could
smell the smoke by late afternoon. By 7:00 p.m., it is hard to see
the hill behind the cabin. A bad fire day in the US...
