Day 447 - Stairs, part 2

Wednesday, August 23 -- It was pretty chaotic onsite today -- more people and vehicles that space, a long list of to-dos, and Mike flew up with our friend Jeff to see the project.

South and John arrived about 10am to finish the stairs and balcony. And, Cyrus and his metal "maestro" arrived about 11am to do final measurements for the stair railings, coordinate with South, and check some design items with us. Both crews drove up over from the Garberville area -- a 4-5 hour drive.

South left this afternoon. John will stay on tomorrow and Friday to get most of the stairs done.

In the fever, I didn't get many pictures taken today.

Mike and Jeff depart for Oakland...

Dave and Rick struggled on with the deck. The board length expansion is really causing frustration...

John is almost done with the big counter in the laundry room...

Dave and Rick also installed one of the column covers. I thought that the railing would get installed today, but it now looks like next Monday and Tuesday. But they did get one cover on in case the painters come up to do the outside...

Ken brought the skid loader over to do grading and build the planter boxes, but couldn't get around all the trucks, vans, and piles of dirt. Maybe Monday.

We had to reschedule the painters since work on the interior staircase makes it hard to get around the house.
