McHugh/Gant
Hangar House

Day 432 - Second Anniversary

Wednesday , August 2 -- Two years in the making. Not quite sure that a party hat is an appropriate symbol, but today is a milestone.

Pete made great progress on the hangar door wall faces today...

Kelli spent some of the morning "cleaning" the leaching salts from the siding board above the hangar. In the first picture above, you can see the clean versus white area. She also did touch up work on the garage north wall, washed down all the siding in the area, and washed the two windows. Looking good.

Gary and Darrel were onsite to continue the repaint work. All signs of drywall repair are almost gone. They will be back next week. Now that the ceiling is painted, Kelli installed light bulbs (lamps) in empty cans...

Ken and Kelli agreed on a source for compost/mulch/soil conditioner for the planter beds. Tomorrow Ken's driver will go to Yreka to get 15 yards. There is seasoned steer manure in Coffee Creek. Then we will be set to start grading and finishing up the south side of the house with planter beds, a retaining wall, required concrete stoop, waterlines, and drainage.

She spent the rest of the day doing gardening -- cutting back dead growth, removing unwanted plants, and general cleanup along the property line between us and our dome neighbors.  Kelli has been keeping the dome house plants and trees watered since we use their driveway and property daily.

Kelli confirmed stair railing parts and pieces with the metal fabricator. Pieces are on order and fabrication is started.

The Junction fire is 100% contained and the air is slowly clearing...
